Save Our Spire!

We are undertaking urgent repairs to our church tower to ensure the building remains safe, open and able to serve the community.

A professional inspection identified deterioration to stonework in the tower, which sits directly above the church’s main entrance. Temporary safety measures are in place, but permanent repairs are now essential to protect everyone who uses the building and to secure its long‑term future.

We are grateful to have already secured £150,000 towards this project, with generous support from Cloudesley, the Garfield Weston Foundation, the National Churches Trust, and local fundraising.

These funds represent a major step forward in safeguarding a building that welcomes 400–500 people each week for worship, youth and family activities, food bank support and community gatherings.

The total cost of the project is £175,000, and we are now seeking to raise the final £17,206 needed to complete the repairs. Alongside ongoing grant applications, local support will help ensure this vital work can go ahead and that St Mary Hornsey Rise continues to be a safe and welcoming space at the heart of the community.
