Who we are 

Hi, I’m Fil. I am the Estates Apprentice here at St. Mary Hornsey Rise. Together with my colleague Erika, we lead and run our amazing Family Church. The aim of Family Church is to create a safe space for families to gather and grow in a faith enriching environment. You will be very welcomed when you visit. We look forward to seeing you soon. Hi, I’m Erika and I’m the Estates Support Officer here at St Mary Hornsey Rise. I support Family Church by organising the operational aspects of our activities and keeping everything running smoothly. It is my joy to work with Fil on the amazing Family Church project. 

What we do 

Family Church serves children and families who live in our parish. We welcome families into our church by running fun and friendly events, and we get out and about to bless our community and raise awareness of St Mary Hornsey Rise.  

Events 

Our Family Church events take place once per month after school. We use crafts and games, activities, stories and songs as we learn together to live well and joyfully. There is always food provided. Family Church is aimed at local primary school aged children and their families.   

Film Club 

Our Film Club takes place on Saturdays throughout the year. We transform our church into a cosy cinema. We screen a family friendly movie on our big screen. There is plenty of popcorn and cinema snacks for everyone. All are welcome.  

Outreach 

Family Church loves getting out in our local community. We bring our famous Hot Chocolate stand and popular cookie decorating activity to community events such as Elthorne Pride and local organisations such as Ashmount Primary School. We can talk with you about our upcoming events and provide you with sweet treats.
